Welcome to Our Host Family Program

At EuroVoyage Exchange, we believe that living with a local family is one of the best ways for students to fully experience Spanish culture and improve their language skills. Our host families provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive home environment where Irish students can grow personally and academically during their stay in Spain.

What Is a Host Family?

A host family is a local Spanish family who opens their home to international students for a short or medium-term stay—ranging from one month to a full school term. Students live as part of the family, sharing meals, routines, and daily life, which helps them practice Spanish naturally and gain deeper cultural understanding.

What Do Host Families Provide?

• A comfortable private or shared bedroom for the student

• Meals throughout the stay (breakfast, lunch, dinner on school days)

• Support with transportation to and from school if needed

• A friendly, caring environment to help the student settle in

• Guidance on Spanish customs, traditions, and everyday life

What We Expect From Host Families

To ensure a positive experience for everyone, our host families agree to:

• Provide a safe and respectful home environment

• Treat the student as a member of the family

• Communicate openly with both the student and our agency

• Follow guidelines regarding student privacy and welfare

• Support the student’s language learning and cultural integration

How We Support Host Families

We carefully vet and select each host family through a thorough application and interview process. Our agency remains in regular contact with families throughout the student’s stay, ready to assist with any questions or concerns.

We also provide clear information and resources to help families understand their role and responsibilities.
